Meet Michelle
Michelle’s love for singing began at the age of eight in her local church choir. Trained in the Bel canto style, she grew up serenading family, friends, and even the family pets—anyone willing to listen. Her fondest childhood memory was serenading her grandparents while traveling to Arkansaw, singing John Denver songs. By her twenties, Michelle was performing across a range of venues, bringing beloved classics, Broadway favorites, and popular songs to life with warmth and authenticity.
Michelle took a pause from singing for many years as her life blossomed into the sacred work of raising her children and serving as a psychotherapist and educator. But when the song Friends With The World arrived as a soulful download, it rekindled the spark she thought she had set aside. It reopened her heart to the joy of singing and creating again.
As her artistry has evolved, Michelle’s creative expression deepened into songwriting—a process she describes as receiving “downloads.” Her songs arrive as inspired messages, often beginning with a title or melody that comes in a dream or during an ordinary moment of daily life. Her debut song was born this way—its title gifted in a dream and its melody flowing through her as she washed dishes. Every song since has followed this same intuitive and inspired process.
Michelle’s debut song,“Friends With The World,” was created in collaboration with her son, Josh Villegas. The song also inspired Michelle’s upcoming children’s book of the same name, which will feature social-emotional learning activities designed to help children explore empathy, mindfulness, and their connection to the world around them.
Drawing on her background as a psychotherapist and educator, Michelle weaves her passion for creativity, emotional growth, and human connection into every facet of her work—inviting audiences of all ages to discover the harmony and peace that unite us all.
